Xiaomi CMO, Anuj Sharma, in a conversation with Gadgets 360, told that the new smartphone will reduce the gap between Redmi Note 13 Pro + 5G and Xiaomi 14. The 8 GB + 256 GB variant of Redmi Note 13 Pro + 5G is priced at Rs 30,999 and the 12 GB + 512 GB is priced at Rs 34,999. The price of Xiaomi 14 is Rs 69,999. Sharma said, “I don’t think there is a very good smartphone in the Rs 50,000 segment. We want to bring a better device in it.”
Select smartphone companies have introduced their devices in this segment. However, OnePlus has a strong position in it. The company’s 11R and 12R have received a good response from customers. Apart from this, there is Apple’s SE and recently launched Samsung’s Galaxy A55 at a price of around Rs 45,000. Sharma said, “Rs 50,000 is an important price point in the premium segment. It is similar to Rs 9,999 in the economy segment. A few years ago, when online sales increased, products of Rs 9,999 and Rs 10,999 were considered differently in the country. Similarly, the customer’s thinking changes a lot in more than Rs 50,000 or less than Rs 50,000. The Rs 50,000 segment has been forgotten in the last few years.”
this years Xiaomi Xiaomi has grown a lot in the smartphone market. The company’s Redmi Note and Xiaomi 14 series have been well received. According to a report by market research firm IDC, it ranks first in the smartphone segment under $100. Sharma said that the company has paid attention to the feedback received from its community and the learnings from the launch of Xiaomi 13 Pro last year. The big change for the company was to balance its product portfolio to make it easier for customers to choose.
