Well-known tipster Digital Chat Station has shared information on a Chinese microblogging website Weibo. This leak claims that Ouga Group is working on a 7,000mAh battery pack. Let us tell you that Ouga Group is a combined research and development lab of OnePlus and Oppo. The largest battery ever in any OnePlus smartphone was in the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro model, which had a large 6,100mAh battery.
However, the upcoming smartphone with this big battery is not a part of the brand’s flagship or flagship killer lineup. Rather, it will be introduced as a mid-range smartphone. Digital Chat Station says that the smartphone is still under development, and its launch is still a long way off. Considering it as a mid-range model, it should be a part of the company’s Nord series, but right now it is only a possibility.
The tipster claimed that this is not the only 7,000mAh smartphone, but Ouga could also work on a 6,500mAh cell for another smartphone. This model is expected to use a new battery technology that uses silicon material. The Glacier battery technology has a silicon-carbon anode that offers 23.1% more energy density than graphite batteries. Which means the battery can be smaller in size for the same capacity.
