At the same time, Vivo is at number three whose 52% smartphones are designed by third parties. The report says that this trend will continue in future also. The outsourced smartphone design industry registered a growth of 6 percent in the first half of 2024.

The influence of Chinese brands is believed to be behind this growing trend. Chinese smartphone maker companies offer phones in low budget. Among these, low-budget and midrange smartphones are very popular, in which the features along with design are attractive. Huawei is also a big name in this list, whose 44% phones are designed by third parties. At the same time, 40% of Honor’s smartphone designs are outsourced, and 39% of Oppo’s phones are designed externally.

Apple and Samsung stand out here. Apple designs all its smartphones itself. Whereas 22% of Samsung’s phones are designed externally which is much less as compared to other companies.
