How powerful is the Samsung Galaxy C7 Pro? First look

Samsung Galaxy C7 Pro smartphone was officially launched in China earlier this year. And now this phone has been launched in India for Rs 27,990. Samsung Galaxy C7 Pro will be available exclusively on Amazon India from April 11. This smartphone is an upgrade of Galaxy C7 launched last year. Its biggest feature is its extreme thinness and premium metal design. We spent some time with Galaxy C7 Pro at Samsung’s official launch event. Know, how does this phone look at first glance?

Samsung has launched smartphones with good specifications and metal body in every price segment in the last few years. Galaxy C7 Pro shares many features with the older Galaxy C7 as well as Galaxy C9 Pro. There is nothing new in terms of metal body design. With a thickness of 7 mm, it is thicker than Galaxy C7 but it is one of the thinnest handsets available in the market.

The Galaxy C7 Pro comes in Gold and Navy Blue colours. Both the colour variants look attractive and this is one of the ways you can differentiate between this smartphone and the Galaxy C9. The phone has metal edges and antenna lines on the top and bottom of the rear. The phone has volume buttons on the left while the power button and hybrid dual SIM tray are on the right. There is a USB Type-C port at the bottom and a speaker grille on the right while the 3.5mm audio jack is on the left. The phone fits easily in the hand. It weighs 172 grams and doesn’t feel heavy. We will give our verdict on the build quality and convenience of the phone only after a detailed review.

Talking about the display, the Galaxy C7 Pro sports a 5.7-inch 1080p Super AMOLED screen with 2.5D Gorilla Glass 4. It is decent for a phone of this price. Samsung is known for its sharp and vibrant colour displays, and this phone did not disappoint us either. The display is bright and we had no problem using it even in bright sunlight.

However, the Galaxy C7 Pro runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow instead of Nougat. The device is powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 626 processor. The phone has 4GB of RAM. In our brief time with the phone, we did not face any issues and found the interface to be quite good. Apps open quickly and as expected from a new premium device, multitasking is a breeze.

Galaxy C7 Pro has a 16 megapixel sensor for the front and rear camera. Both cameras come with aperture F/1.9. The same camera setup was also given in Galaxy C9 Pro. The cameras offer full HD video recording capability at 30 frames per second. Apart from this, other features include phase detection auto focus, a camera bun and many beautify effects.

Samsung has packed a 3300mAh battery in the Galaxy C7 Pro. The phone has 64GB of inbuilt storage which can be expanded up to 256GB via microSD card. In the short time we spent with the handset, we were not able to test the battery life, so we will have to wait until the detailed review to give our verdict.

Priced at Rs 27,990, the new Galaxy C7 Pro smartphone will compete against the likes of Vivo V5 Plus, OnePlus 3T and Oppo F3 Plus. Stay tuned to Gadgets 360 for our detailed review to read more about the performance, build quality, camera quality and battery life of the Galaxy C7 Pro.
