HMD Global’s latest budget smartphones Nokia 2.2 two of Colour Variants There are two colors, one is steel and the other is tungsten black. Both variants have a glossy finish due to which fingerprints are easily visible. If you do not like this color then you can also change the back cover of Nokia 2.2. HMD Global has also released Express On covers for this phone and these will be available in Pink Sand, Forest Green and Ice Blue colors.
Nokia 2.2 is also made of plastic but despite this it feels quite strong. This smartphone is very compact and easily fits in the pocket. The aspect ratio of Nokia 2.2 is 19: 9 and due to the curved edges the phone fits easily in the hand.
There is a single rear camera with LED flash on the back of the phone. Android One is written at the bottom of the back panel of the phone, along with that a loudspeaker is also present. Nokia 2.2 has a dedicated Google Assistant button on the left side, the button is not programmable and can be switched on/off. Nokia 2.2 has a 5.71 inch HD+ display with 19:9 aspect ratio. There is a thin border at the bottom of the phone. The phone has a waterdrop notch which Nokia has named as Discreet Selfie Notch. The HD+ resolution is acceptable at this price and the viewing angles of the display are also good. We will give you detailed information about these in our review.
Nokia 2.2 will run on Android 9 Pie and the phone is guaranteed to get software updates for two years and security patches for three years. Let us remind you that Nokia 2.1 had 1 GB RAM and 8 GB storage but Nokia 2.2 has been launched in two RAM and two storage variants. Nokia 2.2 has been launched in 2 GB and 3 GB RAM variants. On the other hand, if we talk about its storage, the phone has 16 GB and 32 GB storage.
It is possible to expand the storage up to 400 GB with the help of a microSD card. Nokia 2.2 uses a quad-core MediaTek Helio A22 processor. The phone will be powered by a 3,000 mAh battery which is equipped with 5 watt charging support. The performance of the smartphone was smooth, there were some frame drops when swiping on the Google page from the left side of the home screen. The rest of the animations were fluid and the camera app became very slow while taking photos and processing the pictures.
The smartphone does not have a fingerprint sensor, but this phone is equipped with biometric face unlock feature. We will test this feature in our review. During the launch event, we found that face unlock is fast and reliable. Talking about the camera setup, the Nokia phone has a 13-megapixel rear camera with F / 2.2 aperture. There is a 5-megapixel sensor on the front panel.
The camera app comes with a few AI features, the most interesting of which is the ‘AI powered low light fusion technology’. Nokia claims that the smartphone takes multiple images simultaneously and creates a single image with more light through advanced algorithms.
According to HMD Global, the price of Nokia 2.2 in India will start from Rs 7,699. This price is for the 2 GB RAM and 16 GB storage variant. The 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage variant of the phone is priced at Rs 8,699. However, for a limited time, the company will sell the 2 GB RAM variant of Nokia 2.2 for Rs 6,999 and the 3 GB RAM variant for Rs 7,999. This offer will be available till June 30.
