In a post on social media platform X, the country Company s unit has confirmed the start of assembling Pixel 8. This series includes Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro and the recently launched Pixel 8a. However, TechCrunch reports that Google has started manufacturing only the base model Pixel 8 of this series in the country. The report states that the company’s international manufacturing unit Compal has partnered with Dixon Technologies for this. The initial capacity of its factory is about one lakh units per month. About 30 percent of this will be exported.
The upcoming Pixel 9 series will be launched at the Made by Google event on Tuesday. The launch of this smartphone series in India is on Wednesday. It is not known whether the manufacturing of Pixel 8 in the country will affect its pricing. The starting price of Pixel 8 is Rs 75,999. It is available in 128 GB and 256 GB storage options. This smartphone is sold through e-commerce site Flipkart. The company’s Pixel 9 series can also be sold at retail stores like Croma and Reliance Digital.
Recently, French website Dealabs leaked the promotional offers available at the launch of Google’s Pixel 9 series. It had told that in France, customers buying the 256 GB variant of these smartphones between August 13 and September 5 can get the same price as the 128 GB variant. Apart from this, customers can also be provided a trade-in bonus of 150 euros on Pixel 9, 200 euros on Pixel 9 Pro and 200 euros on Pixel 9 Pro XL on exchanging the old mobile.
