What will be special in Google Pixel 8a
Citing a Google source, Android Authority has shared the specifications of the Pixel 8a. The mid-range A-series phone is said to have a display upgrade. While the OLED panel, display resolution, and screen size will remain the same at 6.1 inches, the refresh rate and brightness will be upgraded compared to last year’s Pixel 7a. The upcoming smartphone will offer a 120Hz refresh rate and 1,400 nits peak brightness.
The report states that Google has increased the corner radius on the Pixel 8a, which is now 128px instead of 47px on last year’s model. This is in line with leaked renders that already revealed what will be different in the design.
The Pixel 8a will also come with DisplayPort output. This will make this feature available in the full Pixel 8 series. The flagship model has recently started getting support for display output. The upcoming smartphone will reportedly be equipped with the Tensor G3 chipset which is also given in the non-Pro and Pro models. There will be no upgrade in the Pixel 8a in terms of camera setup. It is expected to be equipped with the same camera setup as its previous model, which includes a 64-megapixel IMX787 camera and a 13-megapixel IMX712 camera.
Finally, the report states that the Pixel 8a will be launched in more regions compared to the limited availability of the Pixel 7a. The regions where the upcoming smartphone will launch include electronic warranty labels for the Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia.
