Apple Registers Growth in iPhone Shipments to China After Price Cuts

American devices maker Apple’s iPhone shipments in China grew by 12 percent in March. The company had reduced the prices of iPhones in China. Some models of iPhone 15 were given a discount of up to 10 percent. Apple is facing tough competition from smartphone makers like Huawei in China.

According to data from the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), shipments of smartphones from foreign companies in China grew 12 percent to 37.5 lakh units in March. It was around 33.5 lakh units in the same period last year. However, this data is particularly notable for its low price. Apple There is no mention of Apple. Usually, in a quarter with low sales, the base variants of the iPhone sell more than the Pro variants. However, the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s highest sales in the last quarter indicate that customers prefer premium smartphones more.

The share of iPhone Pro models in the company’s total revenue from smartphones is estimated to be more than 60 percent.
