Apart from this, you will also get a fingerprint sensor in the back of the phone. Apart from this, you will get a removable battery in the phone which is usually not seen in any handset launched these days. Is Moto E6s a best budget smartphone? Let’s know…
Design of the Moto E6s
The design of the Moto E6s is quite simple and basic. The borders around the display are slightly thick and the notch is placed at the top of the front panel. The volume and power buttons are on the right side of the phone. We liked the contrasting texture of the power button, the 3.5 mm headphone jack is found at the top of the phone. The laminated back and edges feel like two separate layers but they are part of the same shell.
Moto E6s will be available in India in two color variants, Rich Cornberry and Polished Graphite. Both the color variants are prone to fingerprints. The red version of Moto E6s comes with a dual-tone finish, which hides fingerprints on this device but the smudges are not easily removed. Moto E6s has two SIM slots and a separate microSD card slot.
It is possible to increase the storage up to 512 GB with the help of a microSD card. For your information, let us tell you that only a micro-SIM can be used in one SIM slot of Moto E6S. A fingerprint sensor has been provided for security at the back of the phone, which works properly. Moto logo will be found on the fingerprint sensor. The phone does not unlock quickly with the help of the fingerprint sensor, but its success rate is good.
Face recognition works well in adequate light but it does not work properly in low light. It is worth noting that it is not very fast compared to the face unlock feature found in other budget smartphones but it works. There is a micro-USB port and a single loudspeaker at the bottom of the phone. The phone has a 6.1-inch full-HD + (720×1560 pixels) OLED Max Vision display.
The display was bright enough outdoors and the colours were also correct. The viewing angles of the phone are also good. The aspect ratio is 19.5:9, due to which the phone is big but it is not too wide, so the phone was good to hold in the hand. Moto E6 is not too heavy as it weighs 150 grams and is 8.6 mm thick. In the retail box you will get a USB cable, 10 watt charger, some manuals, case and nano-to-micro SIM adapter.
Moto E6s specifications and software
Octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 processor has been used in Moto E6S. Let us remind you that the same processor has been used in Realme C2 (Review) and LG W30. Only one variant of Moto E6s has been launched in the Indian market which is equipped with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage.
Talking about other specifications of Moto E6s, the phone has Bluetooth version 4.2, single-band Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, USB-OTG, FM radio, support for three satellite navigation systems, accelerometer, ambient light sensor and proximity sensor. It is worth noting that the phone does not have a gyroscope or compass sensor.
Moto E6s runs on Android Pie and comes with a stock interface. Moto E6s is not a part of Google’s Android One program. The phone will have FM radio app, Moto Help and Motorola notifications, with the help of which you can find the nearest Moto Hub store or service center. Apart from the Digital Wellbeing feature, the phone also has some gestures like double-tapping the power button to turn on the camera.
Moto E6s performance and battery life
In terms of performance, the Moto E6s is good for running apps and doing some multitasking. Navigating Android menus is fast but not fluid. UI animations can be a bit slow at times. The phone has 4GB of RAM and it was easy to keep multiple apps running in memory and app load times weren’t bad either.
Games also ran well on the Moto E6s.
You will not get the best experience in the full version of PUBG Mobile. PUBG Mobile Lite still ran better. After 30 minutes of gameplay, the phone did get a little warm, and the battery consumption also increased by 11 percent. Even after turning on the ‘BesLoudness’ sound enhancement option, the sound from the speaker is not very loud. The viewing angles of the display are good.
The 3,000mAh battery powers the phone and lasts for almost a full day. In our HD video battery loop test, the phone lasted for 12 hours and 22 minutes. If you do not use the phone continuously, the phone’s battery can last more than a day. The rapid charger that comes with the phone can charge the phone only 15 percent in half an hour and about 30 percent in an hour. The phone takes about 3 hours and 45 minutes to fully charge.
Moto E6s camera
Moto E6S has two rear cameras, a 13-megapixel primary sensor, its aperture is F / 2.0 and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. An 8-megapixel front camera will be available for selfie and video calling. In the camera app, the shooting mode and shutter button are given at the bottom and buttons for different modes are given at the top of the viewfinder. Moto E6S also has AI scene detection which can be turned on or off.
Google Lens can also be used from the camera app. Autofocus is not very fast, so capturing fast-moving objects is a challenge even when there is enough light. HDR works well when shooting in contrasting light, but the dynamic range is a bit limited. Details are captured well in close-up shots. Shots taken in daylight look overexposed.
In Bokeh mode, you will get a slider to adjust the level of background blur. A separate beauty shooting mode has been provided for smoothing the subject face, other shooting modes include video and panorama. In low light, the camera has a little difficulty in locking focus.
Shots taken with the Moto E6s at night do not capture details well and landscape shots look a bit grainy. Selfies taken with the front camera in daylight were average. The phone has HDR but it is not very useful. Selfies taken at night show grain and lack details. The screen flash is also not very useful.
The video quality in daylight is also average and there is no electronic stabilization at 1080p resolution. In low light, the image quality lacked sharpness and details were not captured well.
Our verdict
Probably Moto E6S will be the only phone in this price range which is equipped with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage which is quite good. Recently we have seen many such phones in this price segment which come with big batteries. Xiaomi’s Redmi 8A comes with Type-C port and fast charging support, along with this it has a big battery.
Moto E6S has a good display and the RAM and storage in this device is quite good at this price. If you don’t mind less RAM and storage then this is the best device in the market. Realme 3i ,Review) And Redmi 7 Like there are other better options also available.
