Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro Max Becomes Best Selling Smartphone in First Quarter

American devices maker Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro Max has been the best-selling smartphone in the first quarter of this year. It has surpassed Apple’s other iPhones and smartphones of South Korean consumer electronics company Samsung in sales.

A media Report In 2018, the second-best-selling smartphone is the iPhone 15, according to data from market research firm Counterpoint. It is followed by the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 14. Samsung’s Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy A15 5G and A54 are at fifth, sixth and seventh positions respectively. Usually, in a quarter with low sales, the base variants of the iPhone sell more than the Pro variants. However, the iPhone 15 Pro Max sold the most in the last quarter, indicating that customers prefer premium smartphones more.

The share of iPhone Pro models in the total revenue from Apple’s smartphones is estimated to be more than 60 percent. Earlier this year, Apple lost its position as the world’s most valuable company. The market capitalization of Microsoft, one of the big software companies, exceeded it. Apple is in talks with companies like Google and OpenAI to add AI features to the iPhone. The company has also been hit by the lack of demand for the mixed reality headset Vision Pro. Vision Pro was launched in February this year. It is available only in the US. The company plans to introduce it in other international markets soon. Recently, Apple CEO, Tim Cook had said that the sale of Vision Pro will be started in China this year.

Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman has reported in the Power On newsletter that Apple has no plans for the Vision Pro to launch its next version in the next two years. Earlier, Apple tracking analyst Ming Chi Kuo had also said that the manufacturing of Vision Pro 2 will not start before 2027. There are reports that the company has also reduced orders for Vision Pro.
